Kamp Recipe: Kampsite Doughnuts

1 can buttermilk biscuits, refrigerated (Pillsbury Biscuits work just fine)

¾ cup sugar

½ teaspoon cinnamon

Plain Glaze (optional):

2 cups confectioners’ sugar

¼ teaspoon salt

8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

¼ cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Place a cutting board on an EZ Prep Table and separate the biscuits. Cut a hole into the center of the biscuit (we suggest using the vegetable cap to stamp out the center.)
  2. Fill a pan with two inches of oil and add two or three biscuits. Fry the biscuits in the oil and flip them when they’re golden brown. Once they are finished place them on a paper towel or plate.
  3. Put sugar and cinnamon into a paper bag and add the doughnuts. Shake until doughnuts are fully covered in the mixture and enjoy!
  4. If you’re feeling up to it, you can make a glaze by putting the confectioners’ sugar and salt in a bowl. Add melted butter, milk and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Dip each doughnut in the glaze and voila! Enjoy!
