Fellow Kamper: Hipcamp
This month’s Fellow Kamper is Hipcamp, a website that helps you find and reserve a diverse range of campsites all across the U.S., which include everything from ranches, farms and vineyards, to nature preserves and public sites. Hipcamp connects adventurists with landowners throughout the country—kind of like an “AirBnB” for camping.
The company was born out of frustration with how difficult it can be sometimes to book a campsite, often requiring going to multiple websites in order to get information about a site and book it. Hipcamp consolidates the process, removing the confusion and reducing the amount of time it takes to do so.
In addition to searching for a campsite by location, Hipcamp lets you search for a site based on amenities (picnic tables, running water, RV hookup, etc.), features (caves, oceans, lakes) and activities (biking, surfing, boating).
